Today has been hot. Like the kind of hot that is muggy,
sticky and makes you feel gross. There are rivers of AC water running from all
of the cars in the parking lot of my work. I sit in my car listening to talon of the
hawk. Watching people from all different social classes trying to find some
sort means to cool down.
I sit here in my shirt and tie. I feel uncomfortable.
Not because of the heat, not because of that fact that I was off five hours,
and I am just leaving now. It is because the summer. It brings endless nights of
depression, worry, suffering, and self doubt.
I do not like what summer represents. I do not enjoy the
heat, the sun, the free time, the beach, the late nights, the bugs, the
parties, and idea of making it better than the last.
Summertime brings gloom.
